Program Information
Join UCCS College of Education faculty Dr. Anderson-Pence for a summer trip to Taiwan! Explore Taiwanese culture with guided excursions and learn about early childhood learning and teaching by joining elementary education classes as teacher aides. Through this amazing opportunity participants will gain a global experience and practical knowledge of Inclusive Early Childhood Education.

**Please note: Priority will be given to students declared in an Education major. All applicants must have Junior standing at the time of the trip, having completed their Sophomore year.

Dates & Itinerary
May 23 - June 1, 2020


May 23 - Arrival at Taoyuan Airport, Taiwan; Transfer to arrival group dinner & hotel

May 24 - Half-day sightseeing tour of Taipei including Lungshan Temple, Presidential Office Building, CKS Memorial Hall; Group lunch; Transit to Kaosiung/Pingtung

May 25 - Full day school visits in Pingtung; Lunch/dinner on own

May 26 - Full day school visits in Pingtung; Lunch/dinner on own

May 27 - Full day school visits in Pingtung; Lunch/dinner on own

May 28 - Full day school visits in Pingtung; Lunch/dinner on own

May 29 - Full day school visits in Pingtung; Lunch/dinner on own

May 30 - Full day guided sightseeing tour of either Tainan or Kenting National Park; Group lunch; transfer to Kaosiung; Dinner on own

May 31 - Half-day sightseeing tour of Kaohsiung including Pier-2 Art Center, Love River, Lotus Pond, Dragon and Tiger Pagodas; Group lunch; transfer to Taipei; Free evening for independent exploring and dinner on own

June 1 - Depart for USA

Cost & Deadlines

Total Cost for Program: $1,410

UCCS International Affairs Registration Fee & Deposit: $200 (due Jan. 24, 2020)
Tumlare Program Fee: $1,210 (due Feb. 7, 2020) please see https://tumlare.wufoo.com/forms/k18qnoj1axshep/ for payment instructions

Included in the total program cost are the following: Hotel, Local Ground Transportation, Some Meals, Local Guides & Entrance Fees

Not Included in the total program cost are the following: International Airfare, Non-Program Meals, International Health Insurance, UCCS Tuition (charged separately to your student account)

Passports & Immigration
All participants need to have a valid passport to participate in this program. The passports need to be valid at least 6 months after the anticipated departure from Taiwan. Visas are not required for U.S. citizens, if you are not a U.S. citizen you will need obtain a visa on your own.
