UCCS recommends a minimum coverage amount of $200,000.00. Please visit our insurance page for more information and to see the UCCS recommended international health insurance provider. Immigration and Visas

A visa is a document (usually in form of a stamp in your passport) that gives you permission to travel into a specific country and stay there for a determined period of time.Students are required to either obtain a Short-Term Study Visa or Tier 4 (General) Student Visa depending on the length of time that the student is studying at Loughborough University. You can learn more about both types of visas, as well as how to apply, by visiting gov.uk's student visa website here: https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/student-visas

As part of your visa application, you will require a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS). You will be sent your CAS when you have completed your application process, submitted your academic documents and your English language qualification and your place at Loughborough has been confirmed. Your CAS will contain a unique CAS number, which you will use to apply for your Tier 4 visa, and will indicate what supporting documents you need to submit as part of your visa application. You must apply for your visa using the CAS number provided by Loughborough, as this will ensure that you have the correct sponsor number on your visa.

For students that have been accepted to Loughborough University on the exchange, Loughborough's Student Advice and Support center is authorised to give visa and immigration advice, therefore it is recommended that they directly contact the center for questions at advice@lboro.ac.uk. The Global Engagement Office does not process or issue visas. We are here to advise and assist you with the process, but obtaining a visa is ultimately your responsibility.

Financial aid will not be released early for education abroad purposes. For specific questions regarding financial aid, students should contact the UCCS financial aid office directly.

Scholarships

Students are eligible to continue to receive most scholarships and grants that they would receive normally during the semester as long as there are not stipulations that students need to be on-campus. Students should confirm this with their appropriate contact for the scholarship. Students wishing to apply for scholarships for study abroad should visit our scholarship website.

Oslo, NorwayLoughborough, United Kingdom

Loughborough is in the borough of Charnwood, in the county of Leicestershire, a busy market town with a vibrant history. It is the largest town in the county and has a population of over 55,000.

The town provides the student essentials, with plenty of open space, gardens, shopping and entertainment. The location is also ideal for exploring the cities of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby, as well as being close to a variety of tourist attractions such as the Peak District, Sherwood Forest and the National Space Centre.

The town is close to some fantastic countryside. Charnwood gets its name from the rocky Charnwood Forest to the west, which was recently replanted to create the heart of the National Forest. It contains some of the oldest rocks and fossils in Britain.

In the centre of the area is the broad flat plain of the River Soar, and to the east are the rounded rolling hills of the Leicestershire Wolds - with some of England's loveliest and most unspoilt villages.

Close by is Bradgate Park (dating from at least 1240) with roaming herds of red and fallow deer. The Park will be forever associated with England's 'Queen for Nine Days', the Lady Jane Grey, who lost her crown and her head to Mary Tudor, eldest daughter of Henry VIII.
