Program Description:

Kanazawa Spring Education Trip

Program Leader: Dr. Katie Anderson-Pence

**Please note: Inquiries and participation approval for these trips should be directed to the faculty leader, Dr. Katie Anderson-Pence, at kander19@uccs.edu. They are small, pre-approved groups of students as part of a capstone experience.**

Program Information

This program is for education students that have been pre-approved by Dr. Anderson-Pence to participate in the familiarization experience. To apply, you have to click on the "Apply Now" button above, which will prompt you to set up a profile in our system and begin your application.

Please direct all inquires regarding trip information, dates and itinerary, cost and payment information, and housing to Dr. Anderson-Pence. Faculty approval is required prior to an application being accepted.

Cost and Payment Information

Included in the program cost are the following items:
  • Local accommodation
  • Local transportation
  • Round-trip international airfare
NOT included in the program cost are
  • International Affairs application fee
  • Meals
  • Tipping and personal spending money
  • Medical travel insurance

Passports and Immigration

All participants need to have a valid passport to participate in this program. The passport needs to be valid at least 6 months after the anticipated return date. Participants holding a U.S. Passport do not need a visa or additional permission for these programs. Those who do not hold a U.S. Passport should check with the closest specific embassy or consulate for the country they hold their passport from for entry requirements.

Health and Safety

Health and safety are paramount to a successful experience studying abroad. We encourage students to research health and safety considerations of the destination they wish to travel to. The U.S. Department of State (DOS) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) provide up to date and comprehensive information about health and safety abroad. Please visit their websites to find more information.

All students are encouraged to visit the Centers for Disease Control website for a complete list of CDC recommended shots for relevant countries.
